An Interesting Bet at Nine
Will the winner of the Kentucky Derby be an odd or even number horse?
On the surface this sounds like a 50/50 chance
but
You never have more even number horses on the program than odd number horses.
You can have more odd number horse on the program than even number horses. (If there are 12 horses it's 6 and 6, if there are 11 horse the odds out number the even, if there are 13 horses the odds out number the even).
In most races. Although I do believe the Kentucky derby is an exception - not sure though. If two horse are own by the same person. The horses are numbered 1 and 1A. Giving the odds one more horse.
I don't think Nine though this one through.
