Experts: Ban Won't Stop Online Gambling

NEW YORK (AP) -- Gamblers may look over their shoulder now, but experts say a new Internet gambling ban won't keep bettors from ponying up, just turn them on to overseas payment services out of the law's reach.

click on the blog headline for the rest of the story.

I'm no expert, but I am a little concern about the money the El Cortez of Las Vegas owes me. It was legal for them to mail my money back to me when they received my winning gambling ticket. But as of now it is illegal to mail the winning money back to me. Have not seen the money yet. Under the circumstances I suppose I should let them have more time to figure this one out. Won't be surprise if I receive a letter from them stating the money will be held at their casino for up to one year and that I must collect it in person.

Intertops remains open

Intertops.com says "U.S. come to US!" to its affiliates.
Pioneer online gambling portal still open for customers and affiliates from the U.S.
With most online gambling sites no longer accepting U.S. customers since last week, our message is clear and simple: "U.S. come to US!". After a change in U.S. legislation, competitors such as 888.com and Partypoker.com have decided to shut down their U.S. services.

Intertops considers online gambling to be legal in most U.S. states and sanctioned by the WTO (World Trade Organization). We are licensed and regulated in both Canada and Antigua and comply with every law within the jurisdictions in which we operate. We are dedicated to offering our worldwide customers a perfect service in our online sportsbook, casino and poker room.

We have made advance arrangements to fully accept and disperse payments for US-based gamblers.

Founded in 1983, Intertops offered the first online bets in the world in 1996. After 23 years in the business, we are looking forward to proving our responsibility to both our customers and affiliates.

We have made provisions for our customers to be able to continue to play and you will continue to earn lifetime commission for the customers you have referred to us.

We will, of course, also reward you for all the new players you send to us in the future.

Our affiliate team is currently setting up new promotions and will inform you in the near future.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at affiliate@intertops.com.

TRUST THE FIRST and continue to work with US: US stands for Intertops.com and the U.S.!

Intertops still up and running

Dear Customer,

Following FirePay’s announcement that it will cease offering its services to gambling operators, we are happy to offer you great alternatives.

FirePay’s decision to withdraw is a direct result of new legislation in the United States restricting some payment providers from offering their services.

Intertops.com operates from outside the US and is licensed in both Antigua and Canada to conduct online betting and gaming all over the world. As a result it is perfectly safe for you to continue enjoying your gambling experience with us.

Intertops.com will continue to operate its business as usual.

We would like to encourage you to use our range of alternative payment options for your deposits and withdrawals. We recommend Neteller, but you can also use Bank Wire Transfer and Click2Pay.

And the Fat Lady Sings

Dear Valued Affiliate,

As a current member of the Microgaming poker network, VIP.com Poker regrets to inform you, effective immediately, that players that reside in the eleven U.S. States listed below will no longer be able to gain access to VIP.com Poker:

Michigan, Illinois, Louisiana, Oregon, Wisconsin, Washington, Indiana, Nevada, New York, New Jersey and South Dakota

The blocking of players from these select U.S. States is a result of Microgaming's response to the recent Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Bill in the U.S. Affected States are those that have specific legislation banning online gambling or States that have represented that their conventional anti-gambling laws would cover online gambling.

VIP.com Poker sends its sincere apologizes to all affiliates and players affected by this recent development and confirms that they are busy working to find a long-term solution that will allow players from around the globe access to their poker room. VIP.com continues to provide all of their other services to all customers, including the quickest payouts in the industry, sports, casino and horse wagering, as well as 24/7 access for customers to their funds.

Players from these States that have a balance in their poker account and wish to make a withdrawal are being asked to contact VIP.com Poker Support at poker@vip.com or 1.800.300.BETS (2387).

Back to the old school methods?

Won the bet I place on the Washington Nationals to win less than 74 1/2 games during regular season.

Mailed my winning ticket back to the El Cortez hotel and Casinio in Downtown Las Vegas.

I have no doubts I'll be hearing back from them.

Why is everyone picking on me?

"Gambling is a serious addiction that undermines the family, dashes dreams, and frays the fabric of society," said Frist in a statement after the bill passed in the Senate. "Congress has grappled with this issue for 10 years, and during that time we've watched this shadow industry explode. For me as majority leader, the bottom line is simple: Internet gambling is illegal. Although we can't monitor every online gambler or regulate offshore gambling, we can police the financial institutions that disregard our laws."

For the complete story click on the blog headline.

Also included in the bill is language that indicates that Internet service providers could be required to block access and remove links to Internet gambling Web sites.

And so the American Empire has ended. Yesterday were were the OLDEST democracy and the longest one to ever survive. I guess all good things must end.
