Give a man a fish, feed him for a Day

Teach him how to fish, feed him for life.

I picked off 14 out of 14 baseball games to kick off my MLB gambling bing.
I nailed the weekend in which every team from Ohio would lose against the spread.
I hit parlay after parlay here.
I pounded the NFL last season.
I squashed the NBA.
I kicked ass on college basketball.

What do I know about sports. Damn near nothing.

We aint playing baseball, we aint play football here., and I aint no basketball player. I am a gambler, just like you.

Why so many gamblers fail to understand that they are going up against a free thinking machine - The Las Vegas Sports book is beyond me. Be we are. We all are.

Las Vegas's goal is not to call the game. It's their goall to call the line that puts money into their pockets.

Human nature is a powerful thing.

Stick 500 hundred people in a room that want to bet on a sporting event they now nothing about (Olympic betting) and if the spread on the game is 2½. 400 of these people will bet the favor. (That's right I kicked ass on the Olympics too!!!)

If their home town team wins against the spread 2 times in a row. These folks will bet with a predictability that can be bet on.

If a man loses once, does he up his bet to get his money back. Or cut his bet because he is on a losing streak?

If a man wins once, does he protect his winnings. Or does he let it roll?

If a man loses 10 times in a row. Does he have any money to bet with?

Who is in Vegas today?

Who will be there next week?

What is the buzz on the local radio stations?

Human nature is a powerful thing. When you learn how to second guess how human nature is manipulating the betting pools. You will be able to second guess who Vegas wants to win and who they want to lose. It is myth that the line splits the betting pool down the center. Open your mind on how this cat and mouse game between the gambler and the bookie is played. Because Vegas sure knows.

Despite my record. I got just 6 hard core followers. 3 of you work for the government - Including the Department of Treasury (amazing what an IP address can tell you). I am done placing actual wagers on the web. But before I go let me say this. If I were a gambler I would place the following bets next weekend

Next weeks College Football

North Texas at Texas North Texas +41
Vanderbelt at Michigan Vanderbelt +26
Akron at Penn State Akron +17
Marshall at West Virginia Marshall +22
California at Tennessee California +1 1/2
Northern Illinois at Ohio State Northern Illinois +18 1/2
Stanford at Oregon Oregon -12

Or try Intertops (checkout banner on the right)

2 Teams Pay 13/5
3 Teams Pay 6/1
4 Teams Pay 12/1
5 Teams Pay 24/1
6 Teams Pay 48/1
7 Teams Pay 91/1
8 Teams Pay 175/1

10 Teams Pay 641/1

Don't forget Oasis

2 Teams Pay 13/5
3 Teams Pay 6/1
4 Teams Pay 13/1
5 Teams Pay 20/1
6 Teams Pay 40/1
7 Teams Pay 75/1
8 Teams Pay 100/1
9 Teams Pay 150/1
10 Teams Pay 300/1

In order to win big you may have to spread your money around. But it is possible to win over a year's pay by wagering one days pay. You folks that have followed me know I have a knack for knowing when to go for the kill.

Collecting a years pay can be a serious problem. Not becaue the books won't pay - THEY WILL. Your bank by law must report any deposit over $10,000 to th IRS. Many banks keep records of $5,000 deposit. Play it safe and keep the deposits under $3,000? I trick I like to do is wire the money into the bank account in intervels that are the exact same as my weekly pay check. Keeping all that money in far off foreing countries might be a bit nerve racking. I suggest you open a Firepay account (A Canadian Company) make your deposit from Firepay into the sportbooks. Then you can withdrawal the money from the books back into Firepay. From Firepay you can then make a direct deposit into your bank account. A nice feature of Firepay is the sportbooks can pay you on a Sunday.

Now all this may be a bit much. You might just want to join me in Las Vegas for the weekend.

p.s. Despite having an awsome record. Sometime I out think myself and lose every bet I place. There is a reason why i like parlays. Protection from the slaughter is reason number one.

Arrest, bill won't deter online gambling

The Wire Act of 1961 makes it illegal to bet online. But the law is nearly impossible to enforce, and nearly 80 countries allow wagers online. The $12 billion industry is expected to soar to $24.5 billion by 2010, says researcher Christiansen Capital Advisors.

Because BetOnSports is a regulated UK firm, the U.S. government can do little, says Ken Dreifach, an Internet lawyer who once worked for New York state Attorney General Eliot Spitzer.

Stupid stupid stupid stupid

I thought I was betting on a ERA of 4.5 against an ERA of 4.2 with the 4.5 against tougher teams.

I bet the wrong game. No wonder the odds were so fucked up.

Taking the day off to re-group.

NINE POKER PLAYER MAKES HISTORY!

Nikhil Patel became the first Nine.com player to earn money at the World Series of Poker last week in Las Vegas, Nevada. Patel clawed his way to finish 551st out of 8000 entrants. This respectable finish earned the freshman player a cool $22, 266. Not a bad haul for the on-line poker player who won his chance to compete in the WSOP while playing at NinePoker.com. Not satisfied with the all expenses paid trip to Las Vegas, Patel played strong throughout the tournament and it paid off.

Patel surpassed his goal of finishing in the top 10 percent of the field earning a nice sum of cash in the process. Patel’s achievement is a historical one for NinePoker.com. Since being established on-line in September 2005, Patel is the first player to represent NinePoker.com at the prestigious WSOP. Lorenzo Ringwald, Manager of Poker operations, remarked “To have our first player represent us in such a manner is beyond our expectations. We knew we were sending a sharp player, but Nikhil played with a style that represents the NinePoker image; classy, sharp, and confident!” Over the next few months, Patel and NinePoker will be working on future promotions. “We would love to send Patel to the WPT. I can just imagine what havoc his playing style will cause in Atlantic City.” says Ringwald. On-line Poker is not an easy market to compete in. Many rooms exist and the competition is fierce. Some on-line rooms sent more than a hundred player’s to the WSOP this year, sacrificing quality for quantity. NinePoker sent their player in style, this resulted in excellent play reflecting a quality room, and there are 22, 266 reasons not to argue with that.

On-line poker can certainly help prepare the novice, Patel explains: “Going into day one was like walking into a jungle. After surviving the first 24 hours, I settled down and just approached the game like I do on my home PC.” Stories like this inspire on-line poker players everywhere. Patel turned $72.00 into an all expense paid trip to the WSOP and in turn netted over $22,000!
Look for Patel to represent NinePoker.com at the WPT Final in Atlantic City sometime in September.

To celebrate Patel’s achievement Nine.com is offering all depositors over $500 to our Sports, Casino, or Poker room, 2 exclusive entries to the second quarter of our upcoming NFL 4 Quarter Poker Challenge. Deposits must be made between August 15th and September 1. Simply reply to Lorenzo@nine.com after making your deposit to be credited with the entries! 2 Game football parlay

I am testing another book for you folks, so the ticket looks abit different than the Intertops ticket you saw before.

Risking 400 to win 1,000 (not return 1,000) return will be 1,400

To help insure I make the over I bought two points driving the over under down to 32.5. To help keep the pay-off reasonable I gave up two points on the straight bet and and went with the money line. (Oakland is a two point under dog, I bet them to win out right.

One advantage to this new book is that I am allow to parlay over/under with money lines on the same game (Couldn't with Intertops)

Oakland Raiders vs Philadelphia Eagles

Earlier I placed a wager on Oakland to win the game.

Just placed another wager on the game.

The first quarter point total is 7 U-125 O105

I wagered 500 to win 400 on the first quarter total points being under 7.

Here is hoping to both the Eagles and the Raiders kick off the NFL preseason football by first trying to take control of the game through conservative tatics.

Going After Web Gambling a Challenge
Friday August 4, 4:45 am ET
By Christopher Leonard, AP Business Writer
BetOnSports Case Illustrates Challenges of Going After Web Gambling

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- When federal prosecutor Marty Woelfle went before a judge this week to lay out her case against an online gambling firm, she faced a daunting legal challenge from the company. No one bothered to show up.

There would seem to be good reason for BetOnSports PLC to send attorneys to Missouri. The firm is facing a 22-count indictment on fraud and racketeering charges filed in St. Louis. The chief executive is in jail, and the company faces a restraining order barring it from operating in the United States.

But with headquarters in Costa Rica and other offices in Antigua, BetOnSports was advised it didn't have to respond to charges filed in a U.S. court, Woelfle told U.S. District Judge Carol Jackson.

Industry executives and legal experts are closely watching the prosecution in St. Louis as a key test case in the U.S. government's effort to crack down on Internet gambling, which collects roughly $6 billion domestically every year -- about half of the worldwide take.

"This may very well signal that the (U.S.) Justice Department is going to allow the U.S. attorneys to take this issue much more seriously than they have in the past," said William Eadington, director of the Institute for the Study of Gambling and Commercial Gaming at the University of Nevada, Reno.

If the BetOnSports prosecution is successful, it could change the industry landscape, he said.

"You basically have a very chilling effect on the entire U.S. segment of the market," Eadington said.

But the BetOnSports case also reflects the difficulties prosecutors face in going after a business that shuttles money from private computers to offshore bank accounts. If the prosecution stumbles, it could encourage online gambling firms based in countries like England, where the industry is legal.

"What has made it difficult is that these businesses have been structured to avoid prosecution," said U.S. Attorney Catherine Hanaway, who is leading the case against BetOnSports.

Taking the company to court is no simple matter. Executives live in countries like Costa Rica that make it difficult to extradite defendants to the United States. Even serving routine court papers is a headache involving international treaties.

Hanaway said she is pursuing the case against BetOnSports and other companies associated with online gambling because all those billions of dollars flowing out of United States escape excise taxes. Not only does that rob the U.S. Treasury, but it could foster other illegal activity.
